I am interested in how patterns of biodiversity vary across spatial, temporal, and ecological scales. I work within mountain systems along elevation gradients to ask questions at the interface of community ecology and biogeography. I integrate field surveys with historical museum records and geospatial data to quantify and model how species and communities respond to changes in climate and land use over the last century. In addition, I develop new methodologies to evaluate the quality and completeness of historical museum data in order to promote their use in ecology and conservation.
