[Curriculum vitae]
I use human behavioral ecology and evolutionary psychology to understand how and why people and societies vary in the ways they compete for mates. My dissertation investigates how imbalances in the ratio of men to women affect mate competition--specifically, why men appear to be more aggressive when mates are abundant rather than scarce. I am currently in the field collecting data in the outer islands of Yap state, in the Federated States of Micronesia.
