We got up early and had steak breakfasts at a Casino for $1.99. We spent much of the morning doing wash, buying groceries, gas for the stove, and sending mail back. I also took care of my bills. Before the trip I had made a list of all my utility companies. I called them all up and wrote checks to pay up.

In the afternoon, with all of our chores done we rode into Missoula. We checked out the University of Montana Campus for a while. Patti looked for postcards in the school store while I ate candy bars outside.

We tried to use the service roads out of town, but we ended up dead ended in Turah, and head to backtrack to I90. We got on our second interstate with much trepidation. After all it was an interstate and was undergoing construction work. It turned out alright. The shoulders were about 15 feet wide, well paved, and the highway was only two lanes each way. It was also the only direct road towards Helena. We ended the day at about 7pm at Beavertail Hill St Park. We rented a teepee for the night.
