P00 - Computing At The "U" -
Learn to take advantage of the various computer facilities and short courses at the University of Utah!
Course notes.
This class meets with M00 (same information).
P01 - Introduction To The PC -
A discussion on the fundamentals of the PC (IBM Personal Computer), for those who have little or no experience with a computer. This class will cover DOS, Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.
P05 - Windows 95 Introduction -
The Windows 95 "Graphical User Interface", for those with little or no computer experience. The Pull Down Menus will also be shown, used to access features (mouse vs. keybord), as well as hardware requirements.
Suggested Prerequisite: "Introduction To The PC" course information.
P11 - WordPerfect Introduction -
The fundamental system used in all versions of this powerful word processor, to create a document. Subjects include help, cursor, selecting text, codes, save, open, and print.
Suggested Prerequisite: "Introduction To The PC" course information.
P12 - WordPerfect Editing -
Editing features such as spell, search, multiple documents, move, and copy.
Suggested Prerequisite: "WordPerfect Introduction" course information.
P13 - WordPerfect Format -
Formatting features used in creating a report or thesis such as margins, indent, justification, tabs, page numbering, and footnotes.
Suggested Prerequisite: "WordPerfect Introduction" course information.
P14 - WordPerfect Graphics -
Simple desktop publishing features such as non-keyboard characters, fonts, lines, and graphic images.
Suggested Prerequisite: "WordPerfect Introduction" course information.
P15 - WordPerfect Tools -
Time saving features such as macros, mail merge, sort, and tables.
Suggested Prerequisite: "WordPerfect Introduction" course information.
P25 - MS Word (part 1) -
The basics of using Microsoft's Windows-based word processor, including editing, cut-and-paste, printing, and formatting.
Suggested Prerequisite: "Introduction To The PC" course information.
Note: Classes taught at Eccles Library will use MS Word 7, on Windows 95.
P26 - MS Word (part 2) -
Intermediate features of the Microsoft Word word processor.
Suggested Prerequisite: "MS Word (part 1)" course information.
Note: Classes taught at Eccles Library will use MS Word 7, on Windows 95.
P27 - MS Word (part 3) -
Advanced features of the Microsoft Word word processor.
Suggested Prerequisite: "MS Word (part 2)" course information.
Note: Classes taught at Eccles Library will use MS Word 7, on Windows 95.
P31 - Graphics Introduction -
Electronic drawing tools to create & edit figures, using the fundamental system of WP Presentations for Windows (formerly DrawPerfect). Also a discussion of bitmap vs. vector graphic images.
Suggested Prerequisite: "Introduction To The PC" course information.
P34 - Presentation Graphics -
How to create text, various charts, and "slide shows" using WP Presentations for Windows (formerly DrawPerfect).
Suggested Prerequisite: "Graphics Introduction" course information.
P44 - PowerPoint -
Introduction to powerful presentation techniques integrating text, graphics/images, sound, and video.
Suggested Prerequisite: "Introduction To The PC" course information.
P51 - Spreadsheets with Excel (part 1) -
Basic concepts of spreadsheets: cells, row, columns, text entry, manipulating numbers and formulas in Excel.
Prerequisite: "Introduction To The PC" course information..
P52 - Spreadsheets with Excel (part 2) -
Creating charts, databases, and macros in Excel.
Prerequisite: "Spreadsheets (part 1)" course information.
